If I Could Live It Over
If I had my life to live over,
I’d dare to make more mistakes next time.
I’d relax,I would limber up.
I would be sillier than I have been in this trip.
I would take fewer things seriously.
I would take more chances.
I would take more trips.
I would climb more mountains and swim more rivers.
I would eat more ice cream and less beans.
I would perhaps have more actual troubles,
but I’d have fewer imaginary ones.
You see,I’m one of those people who live
sensibly and sanely hour after hour,
day after day.
Oh,I’ve had my moments,
And if I had it to do over again,
I’d have more of them.
In fact,I’d try to have nothing else.
Just moments,one after another,
instead of living so many years ahead of each day.
I’ve been one of those people who never go anywhere
without a thermometer,a hot water bottle,a raincoat
and a parachute.
If I had to do it again,I would travel lighter next time.
If I had my life to live over,
I would start barefoot earlier in the spring
and stay that way later in the fall.
I would go to more dances.
I would ride more merry-go-rounds.
I would pick more daisies.

严肃看待的事情会更少一些.
我会多作些尝试.

我会多吃一点冰淇淋,少吃一点豆子.
我也许会有多一些实际的困难,
但会少一点想象中的烦恼.
你知道,我是那种辰复一辰,
日复一日,
过着明智而清醒的生活的人.
喔,过去我曾有过一些得意之时,
而如果我可以重头再来,
我会拥有过更多美好时光.
事实上,我会试着不去祈求其他事物.
只求美好光阴,一刻接一刻,
而不是每一天都在面对好几年后的日子.
我曾经是那种
没有温度计,没有热水瓶,没有雨衣和降落伞的话,
就哪里也去不了的人.
如果我要再来一遍,下一趟的旅程会更轻便些.
如果我的人生可以重来,
春天到来时候,我要尽早开始打起赤脚,
然后一直持续到深秋.
我要跳更多的舞.
我要多玩几次旋转木马.
我要过摘些小雏菊.
