What's the different between "try to do" and "try doing"?

try to do 表示试图做某事,想办法做某事,利用一些方法途径.
eg:I tried to solve the maths problem,but still failed.
我试图解除这道数学题,但还是失败了.
try doing表示尝试做某事,就是试着做做看的意思.
eg:Let me try persuading him.
让我试试说服他.
