An independent clause (or main clause) is a clause that can stand by itself, also known as a simple sentence. An independent clause contains a subject and a predicate; it makes sense by itself.
e.g I drive a bus.
A compound sentence is composed of at least two independent clauses. It does not require a dependent clause. The clauses are joined by a coordinating conjunction (with or without a comma),a correlative conjunction (with or without a comma),a semicolon that functions as a conjunction,or a conjunctive adverb preceded by a semicolon.
e.g I have a lot of work to finish,so I will be up all night.
再问: 举例可以多一点么
再答: independent clause eg. you can do it . He likes music very much . I'm worried about that . compound sentence e.g I've got a meeting to attend, so I have to go now. He has learned English for only one year, yet he can communicate with people in English Do it this way or you'll be in trouble
