Lindström Award 2010 competition has now started with the invitation of select design schools.Participating students are asked to design a workwear collection for KONE’s global service staff.
This time around,universities from several European and Asian countries have been invited to participate.Invites have been sent to Sweden and Denmark in Scandinavia,as well as to entirely new European Award countries:France,Spain and Italy.In addition,Asian design schools from India and China have also been invited.Students are required to sign up for the competition by the end of November.

Lindström Award is a ’by invitation only’ clothing design competition and it is the first competition in its category where individual students compete against each other.Compared to previous years,the competition’s rules and prize are now a bit different.Design Director Anna-Kaisa Huttunen from Lindström’s Design and Brand Management department developed new ideas for the competition,but after her maternity leave started,Designer Katja Juhola continued her work.
The competition takes place in two phases.Based on the initial submissions of all the participants,five top designers will be invited to participate in the competition final.The winner of he competition will be able to accept their reward in the form of a paid traineeship,or they may choose the more traditional alternative:scholarship money.
Award Ceremony in May
The award ceremony will be held in Helsinki,Finland,in May 2010.The specific date and time will be announced later on.The members of the competition’s prestigious jury wil be made public in November.
