The Oxford English Dictionary is a dictionary published by the Oxford University Press.The aim of this Dictionary is to present words that have formed the English vocabulary from the time of the earliest records down to the present day.This dictonary embraces the standard language of literature,and therefore,excludes all words that had become obsolete by 1150.
By using the Oxford English Dictionary,we can be assured that we are using a proper English word,and we can then proceed to learn about all the relevant facts concerning the word itself.
