Why so many people want to have a son?

1.Traditionally Chinese believed that only boys
could pass down the family names.Thus,having
sons would guarantee the family leanage.
2.Sons worked in the field better,and able to
helping creating/adding family wealth.
3.Sons could become scholars and to serve the
government.That's one other way to support the
family while glorifing the ancestors.
