这个是表语从句还是主语从句

是主语从句,
其中,it是形式主语,真正的主语其实是that he passed the exam
因为that he passed the exam 整个做主语会显得太长,句子不平衡,不符合英语习惯,所以用形式主语it来代替,而把真正的主语拉到后面
原句应该有错吧,如果that…做表语的话,那surprised要做句中的什么成分?如果that…做主语的话,那也不应该用surprised,应用surprising,用主动态,
