According to Economics of Happiness,happiness is the ultimate goal of human behavior.Therefore,both economic development and public policy making should serve this purpose.By adopting a phenomenological approach,the present analysis finds that the hypothesis above is actually not true.While human behavior aims at external objects and their value,the latter is abruptly overlooked by Economics of Happiness,which leads to its false belief that happiness is the only thing worth pursuing.In fact,economics should base itself upon value,the core issue of any policy and decision making.
