Logistics operations are centered around importing bulk chemicals from around the globe into a processing plant where numerous value added operations are undertaken such as labeling, or decanting into special sized drums. Drums of chemicals are either stored in various locations or delivered directly to customers. Some regional sbus outsource logistics activities to specialist organizations; others operate in house using their own vehicles and warehouses bought by centarium. Management control structures are traditional "command and control" hierarchies with budgets and key performance measures in place.
