表示只有一人担任的头衔或职务的名词在作表语/同位语/补语或介词短语的宾语时,以及表示头衔职位的名词与姓氏连用时不用冠词.但当其作主语时需加冠词.
比较:We elected him manager of the department.(作表语)
The manager of the department is my uncle.(作主语时,须带冠词)
he is dean of the department.
他是这个系的主任.（指正主任或唯一的一个主任）
Mr.Smith,Chairman of the committee,is going to present the winner with the prize.
委员会主席史密斯先生将为优胜者颁奖.
