再答： Lord Baltimore and 300 English Catholic followers found Maryland in 1634 and created the settlement of Baltimore. In 1663, "South of Virginia" was given by King Charles of England to his friends for their businesses. However, as a result of the argument between settlers from Virginia and England, in 1680 the colony of Carolina was divided into North Carolina and South Carolina. The last one of the original 13 colonies, Georgia, was orginally planned by the king for banishment. It also acted as a defence to French and Spanish colonies. Its owner, James Oglethrope, brought many prisoners and paupers to Georgia and built Savannah as the first settlement. The southern colonies had many large plantation.
