英语中介词连用的问题比如这句话researchers believe smaller chips will allow

1.首先要指出的是,这里的down是副词,不是介词.
2.slim愿意是指身材苗条的,形容词；使苗条或减肥,动词.这里做动词,衍生为使形状变小或缩小.本身就有“小”的意思,所以down可以省.相似的例子有：
cut the price=cut down the price.减价,砍价
3.实际意义,当然是有的,使句子读起来连贯,也明确了动作或变化的方向.在本句中还不是很明显.我再举例子：
China will push the financial fiscal up to 825.8 billion yuan.
或者 China's financial fiscal will go up to 825.8 billion yuan .
中国的财政赤字将上升至...元人民币.你看在这里up就强调了变化的方向,没有它我们就无法看出赤字是上升还是下降.
4.这种副词+介词连用其实蛮多的.你可以讲副词与动词看做整体,副词修饰动词.介词和名词是一个整体,不分开.
Please take the book out.
Please take the book out from the bag.
注意副词比较灵活,可以放在名词前：Please take out the book (from the bag).
5.介词+介词短语很少很少,你只要记住一个from就好.在这里介词短语做名词用.
from+behind/above/inside...
The lake looks beautiful from above (the lake).这里省掉the lake避免重复.
He walked from behind the door.
