Once upon a time,long ago,there lived a boy,Xiao Sheng,who was both hard-working and good-natured.He gathered fresh grass to sell in the market to earn money to support his mother.

However,jealousy（嫉妒） and greed prompted two of their neighbors to try robbing the pearl.But Xiao Sheng swallowed（吞下） the pearl in haste to prevent its theft.It burned and burned inside him.In order to quench the burning and thirst,he drank dry the river and turned into a dragon who,spewing（喷出） the water,finally brought the much needed rain to the village.Then the grass could finally grow.
When the dragon left the village through the river,it turned its head many times,and each time he turned,the dragon's massive body cut into the river's edge,sculpting the banks with his last farewell（告别）.We could see the dragon's path along the river even today
