1:For 99% of human history,people took their food from the world around them.They ate all that they could find ,and then moved on.Then about 10000 years ago,or for 1% of human history,people learned to farm the land .
The kind of food we eat depends on which part of the world we live in,or which part of our country we live in.For example ,in the south of china they eat rice,but in the north they eat noodles.In European countries near the sea ,people don't eat so much fish ,they eat more meat .In Germany and Poland there are hundreds of different kinds of sausages.
In North America,Australia,and Europe,people eat with knives and forks.In China ,people eat with chopsticks.In parts of India and the Middle East people use their fingers and bread to pick up food .
Nowadays it is possible to transport food easily from one part of the world to the other .we can eat what we like when e like ,at any time of the year In Britain,bananas come from Arica ;rice comes from India or the USA ;our strawberries come from Chile or rich countries eat too much.
2:Q:Why did you dicide to leave New Zealand?
YG:Well,my mother's English ,so it wasn't such a big decision.When I was about six,we came over to visit my grand mother .When I left school ,I felt it was a good time to have a change .My parents didn't try to stop me coming .My brother had gone to work in Japan .I also had a school friend who was living in England at the time ,and of course ,I could come over here and stay with my grandmother.
Q:How come you become a hairdresser?
YG:Well ,I had always cut my mum's hair ,and she had always cut mine ,my dad's ,and my brother's .When I came over here,I didn't really plan it.One day I answered an ad in a newspaper for a job which offered training .The money was terrible to start with ,but I worked hard .I love people .I find them really interesting .And I'm good at talking!When I first started work as a hairdresser,I got a job in Haywards Hrath .If I made a mess of people's hair ,I didn't want to meet them in the supermarket In the future,I think I want to go and study .My father thinks I should go to university and get what he calls "a real job",but at the moment I really like doing what I'm doing .I like the people I work with and I love living here.What more could I ask for?
