为什么不用at birth?

at birth是“出生的时候,在出生时”
要是换成He is noble at birth.
意思就是 他出生时是高贵的.=== 问 难道一生下来就不高贵了么?
by birth 表示随出生而具有的一种属性,是抽象意义上的东西
She is a musician by birth.
她是天生的音乐家.
She was a lady by birth.
她出身高贵.
