opening stock 期初存货Opening stock, which is the value of stock which exists at the beginning of the accounting period．ending stock（也为closing stock） 期末存货Closing stock, which is the value of stock which exists at the end of the accounting period．In other words, it is the value of goods purchased during the year and in stock at the beginning of the year, less those items sold during the year．
