句子的主语就是在谓语前面的,像你的那个句子中,前半句,kate 就是主语,is crying是谓语,in the room是宾语.就是一个简单句有主谓宾构成.而后半句do you know 是一个插入语,所以后面也是一个主谓宾的结构,只是用疑问代词what 代替.
