Happiness is being content with what one has. If we keep feeling that we have drawn the short end of the stick, we would always be unhappy. Happiness cannot be bought with money. No matter how many things we can buy, happiness bought with cash is fleeting and leaves us furthur from happiness than before. Not everyone is content with their lot in life and so, many of us are unhappy. Although we all strive for happiness, not all are able to be content with what is present. Especially if there are so many other people who have it better than we do. What we ignore is that there are many more people worse off. Think of the starving children in Africa, the children forced to work from a tender age to support their families even of the people with life threatening diseases but are unable to seek treatment. Happiness comes when we adopt the attitude of Pollyanna, to be able to see how blessed we are no matter what comes our way.
