Chinese students celebrate their birthdays in different ways,and（不宜用转折） the most common one is to hold birthday parties （birthdays不能是party,此外这里不要逗号）at which friends get together to have fun ,like singing and dancing.On that day,they can always receive kind gifts（用nice有点怪……） and good wishes from their friends and relatives .Sometimes,their parents will also prepare a special dinner and a birthday cake to show their love（to谁很显然,不可能有歧义,去掉显得简洁）.Since birthday is pretty important in one's life（原文典型的Chinglish,）,it ought to be enjoyed in some more meaningful ways（不加some的话,more形容的是ways）.For example,we may buy some flowers and（并列起来多好） cook a delicious meal for our parents in gratitude for their love（thanks这么用也很奇怪,一般用gratitude.此外,给妈妈做的饭表达对双亲的感谢,逻辑上也不合适）.
