Teaching Aims and Requirements:
Decorative Painting is a compulsory course for students of Art Design (Decorative Art Design). It is a kind of public art to convey mainstream, aesthetic ideal mainly based on popular aesthetic taste, which is the most vivid refinement and expression of people to their perpetual cognition on real life in the society, and is a design form of performance meanings. Fundamental to various environmental decorative art designs, it is a synthesis of foreign and Chinese decoration styles, forms and techniques.
This course is designed to acquaint students of decorative painting in all respects. Students are required to master the composition, modeling, color,
expression technique, material property and composition principle of decorative painting through this course, train their operating ability through practical creation, develop their design thinking, and improve their aesthetic judgment.
