I am in Beijing now and I am writing to you to tell you something about the Great Wall.The Great Wall is a series of fortifications made of stone,brick,wood and other materials.It was generally built along an east-to-west line across the historical northern borders of China.Its purpose was to protect the Chinese Empire against invasions by various enemies.Today,The Great Wall stretches from Shanhaiguan in the east,to Lop Lake in the west.The Great Wall today is made up of a six-thousand-kilometre wall,trenches and natural defensive barriers such as hills and rivers.I hope that I can visit here again with you.
