Abstract
This paper, taking thermal power plants as target to the research of environmental cost accounting (ECA), makes comprehensive analysis and thereby give insights for the objective how to improve ECA of China's enterprises (taking thermal power plants as the example). We made clear preliminary scope and content of ECA, give reviewing on an emphasis to main results and achievements of reseach in this area, in order to lay down theoretical basis for a comprehensive analysis.
Real situations of ECA in some thermal power plants are combined with production process analysis in these corporates for figuring out the main issues and contents of ECA. The necessity and importance to implement ECA in thermal power plants are confirmed. Through ECA-related analysis the existing major issues with ECA in these enperprises are also confirmed.
Finally, aiming at these issues we deveoped practical measures for promoting some better and more effective use of ECA for thermal power plants, in hope for facilitating the progresses of ECA in our country.
