但是anything less than 的意思应该是“任何少于……的事情”嘛.
比如：In that case, anything less than 10% is not worth the trouble.
要是这样的话,佣金如果少于10%这生意就不值得我们去操心了
以及：If they do, anything less than 110 percent perfection may be considered a failure.
如果这么做了, 任何一个环节少于110%的满意度都会被认为是种失败.
我觉得应该翻译成“养孩子并不是一件完全令人愉悦、生活充实的事情”.

但是这是一半的句子,楼主说的没错,可是在全句的主句中还有一个否定词呢.
