Nowadays,students attach less importance to the spelling of words in the process of English study.This phenomenon greatly influences students’ writing and brings on worries among teachers.
There are possibly three reasons contributing to this phenomenon.First,exam-oriented education makes th-e students pay less attention to spelling.Second,some teachers should also be responsible for it because th-ey don’t emphasize the importance of spelling during teaching.Last but not least,some students are too l-azy to recite words.
Since spelling is one of the most important factors in English study,due attention should be given to i-t.As for me,I think,first,exams should be modified to add some factors into it,which would help student pay more attention to spelling.Then,schools should also set effective mechanisms to help teachers as well as the students to realize the importance.Finally,for students themselves,they can,through other ways,mak-e them be interested in word spelling.Only by these can we surly realize the importance of spelling and ma-ke improvement.

Due Attitude Should Be Given to the Study of ChineseIn recent years,the ignorance of Chinese has been prevailing among the students.In the contrast,more and more students attach great importance to foreign languages since the economic globalization.In this ess-ay,I will discuss the factors and consequences of this phenomenon and offer my own view on it.
There are number of factors which can be attributed to this situation.One of the most common factors is that the majority of people hold a view that English is the dominant language in the world and we should giv-e priority to it.Moreover,although Chinese is a compulsory course in higher education,most professorsand st-udents haven’t given due attitude to it as fewer courses and credits aredistributed to Chinese and fewer s-tudents attend the class or choose it astheir major.And the fundamental factor is that most students take it forgranted that Chinese is their mother tongue and they’ve already mastered it.
As far as I’m concerned,this ignorance may be the very first step to furthermore overlook Chinese cultu-res and in order to avoid this consequence-- to the students,they should read more Chinese articles not on-ly to gain knowledge but also tobroaden their scope; to the schools and colleges,they should alter thetraditional teaching approaches to interest more students to study Chinese suchas speeches and dramas.To live,t-o learn,our Chinese still need to bepromoted.
