East, West, Home is best.
I have to admit, no matter where I go, Shanghai is my eternal home.
I miss everything in Shanghai, food, people, music and Shanghainese dialect. Have you ever watched a movie, which is performed by Faye Wong and Leon Lee, big city small thing (da4cheng2xiao3shi4). The story is boring, performing is dull, but I am so attracted by the Shanghai night scene. The camera is floating back and forth from Huang Pu River, Oriental Pearl, the bund, Huanghai Rd, XingtaiDi, my eyes are fascinated by the flashing neon and familiar city. The one scene of the couple´s breaking up, it takes in Zhang4Long2Ge2, which locates in Dongping Road, which is also one of my favorite restaurant, I feel homesick so irresistably.
No matter where you go, no matter where you are, hometown is also most tender part in your heart. Closing my eyes, it occurs to me narrow Nong4tang2 everywhere, pink curtain hanging on the window, and naughty bulbs and beautiful lights decorate my amzaing Shanghai city.
Sometimes we always easily neglect people and things near us, because we default they are always there, reachable. Distance creates incredible beauty. Now I am faraway from my city, I cannot help thinking how wonderful life is there. I miss my friends, I miss the cozy afternoon, we gathered in every fancy cafe shop of Shanghai, I miss we searched "Thatsshanghai" to try to dig every new restaurant from Pudong to Puxi. I miss we sang Karakoke until next day morning in Cashbox. I miss traffic jam in the highway, I miss Jingmao Building, where we worked before, I miss annual party in Shangri-la Pudong, where I was sad for not getting lucky draw one year. I even missed the hotwave and freezing chilly winter. All the memory about my hometown Shanghai is amazing and everlasting.
We are so proud to claim we are elegant Shanghainese, and we do! East, west, Shanghai is the best!
