问题描述:
Some people believe a country will benefit greatly by a high percentage of young people go to university.others argue that it only leads to graduate unemployment.Discuss both and give your own opinion.
Nowadays,it is widely accepted that elites in various fields play an increasingly significant role in society.Yet,in the meantime, the high percentage of young people going to university has aroused a great deal of controversies. Some individuals claim the country will benefit this phenomenon while others assert it only leads to graduates unemployment.personally,i would side with the latter view.
The first point with respect to this is the quality of graduates. As we all known, universities can not ensure everyone with sufficient resources, like computers, lab equipments, because of the great number of students.consequently, graduates accept inadequate knowledge and could not meet the demand of employment. Moreover, not enough positions were offered to all the graduates annually.specifically,it is the numerous graduates that exceed the need of society.Under no circumstance could the poorer graduates employment opportunity during the stiff competition.and an other aspect i would like to add is,that it is the unemployed graduates that creat unstable factors, which may inhabit the development of country.
It is true that average quality of graduates is promoted by doing so.And to some extent,it is reasonable the higher average quality is,the more positive impact be created. However, most graduates are cultivated to be generalists and there would be a scarcity of specialists, who,in my view, may contribute to community dominantly.
To conclude,i would concede that the literacy could be boosted by this procedure ,but ,unfortunately,it leads so large-scale unemployment among graduates. And i suggest,it is not necessary that high proportion going to university since the quality overweights the quantity.
