How I learn at college
Eight months ago ,I was in my high school,it is the best school in zhangzhou.Now,I am in shanghai.Only in the eight months,I find many differences between high school and college.
At high school ,I was asked to study the lessons for the exams erery day ,now I can read many books I like in the library or in the internet .In high school ,my only goal is to enter a good college and I can not take part in many interesting activities .Now ,teachers teach me how to consider something ,how to slove problems ,how to choose a good job and I take part in some useful activities .At college,I have many free time.I learn how to arrange it ,when to wash clothes.Living without my parents,I learn many things for my future lives .
I learnt at high school and college in both similar and different ways.
For three years I have studied at high school.Since the high school teachers care very much about our study and teach us by holding our hand carefully,we need to pay very little attention to learning by ourselves,but just follow them.However,while at college,the teachers no longer teach so much by holding our hand,but give us more instructions in learning by ourselves.Studying depends on ourselves at college more than at high school.
On the other hand,no matter where I am studying,either at high school or at college,I insist on learning by myself.Why?Because,I think,by means of this I can acquire both skills and creativity,that is,I can strike a better balance between the poles of creativity and basic skills.

Truthfully,I had a tough time in college.There were many things disappointed me.During that time,I was helpless and depressed,as the world was painted with only one color----grey.Once,I was in a competition for class monitor.I felt like a lion that has great confidence.I never thought about the result because I knew it must be me.But,the real result was out of my expectation.I lost to another girl who I never treated as a competitor.Later when I went back home,I left myself in my room and fell into a deep thought.Why I lost it?I began to ask myself.Why I lost to the girl who may not better than me?Those questions kept showing.I couldn鈥檛 figure out.Suddenly,a sentence slipped to my mind.When you are going through a crisis,it often helps to talk to someone.So I began to send messages to my friend,asked her advice.She told me that the shyness may be the reason.The people who did not know me may confuse my shyness with unconcern.They may think that I am not easygoing and hard to be work with.It dawned on me that she was absolutely right this time.Although I lost the competition and I couldn鈥檛 forgot that terrible feelings,I learned from it.I know how to prevent it.
In addition,there is also happy time during my college life.At the beginning of my first year in college,I joined school鈥檚 volleyball team.At first,the reason I joined the team was just to build my body.But a couple weeks later,I changed my mind.The volleyball team was impressed me deeply by its strong active mood.Everyone there had the same passion for volleyball and the same strong mind to win the champion.We were not only teammates but also families.Although we hadn鈥檛 a gym in our college and we had to training during the burning summer and the freezing winter,we had never complained even a word.We trained harder and harder.Our arms were full of petechiae,our legs could not raise,but we still kept big smiles on our faces.Because we knew that we could improve ourselves after that hard training.I loved and still loving our volleyball team.In there,I realized that I could get happiness not only from a person but also from a team.I realized that if I pay more,the team would be better.Everyone鈥檚 effort could make the whole team stronger and stronger.Recently,we won the champions of league match of volleyball.Our feelings were hard to describe.In a word,passions and efforts make success.
The past two college years,I was through an identity crisis and was endeavoring to found out who I am and what my strengths and weaknesses are.It was hard to get clear of it,but after these two years,I know myself more and more.Because of the opportunities I had while attending college,I,like many other students,experienced a new understanding of the world and of myself.
College is designed to be a time of personal growth and expansion.At times it can be threatening.For certain,it is an experience that contributes to my growth and maturity.I think I was grown and I am still growing in my understanding of myself,others,and the world in which I live.
