分别嘛,主要看你想描写fall之前的情况,用的是什么介词.
比如如果A原来是on B的,那么摔/掉下来就要用 fall off
例如：
fall off the chair (椅子) 对应 on the chair
fall off the roof (屋顶) 对应 on the roof
但是如果描写摔下来之前的情况,如果用的介词不是on而是at,in,之类的,就要用A falls from B
例如：
falls from a height of 500 meters (500米的高度) 对应 at a height of 500 meters
falls from the sky (天空) 对应 in the sky
falls from power (权力) 对应 in power
falls from heaven (天堂) 对应 in heaven
只要试一下,你就会发现你不会说,on a height..,on the sky,on power,on heaven,所以你就知道不应该用fall off了.
另外要注意的是,有些情况是可以两个都用的,有很细微很细微的区别,这里难解释清楚,就需要你自己多读来把握语感了.
