With the rapid development of the technology of oil painting,decorative elements have been used to creative painting.decorative painting is a kind of imaginative and spirit stylized beauty which is programmed.it is the most characteristic and emblematical art form of expression.Austria famouse artist Gustav Klimt is the symbolism master of painting in 20th Century and the representative of Art Nouveau in Europe.His paintings possess the general symbolism painting's philosophic character and have rich oriental decorative meaning.this unique form of expression achieves a totally different effect from the other artists.This paper studies on the use of decorative elements in painting and how they affect my work by analyzes his paintings.
