So Apple can only reinforce its software competence, like intensify the advantages of its IOS, to raise its core competence by increasing the customers' satisfaction and speeding up the technology innovation.Don't rely on single supplier. For example, Apple will purchas a large quantity of LCD every year after release new product, but Apple has two major suppliers for its LCD, Sharp and Samsung, (these two companies are Apple's competitors of cell phone the same time). In case that Apple has some problem in either relationship or price with one of the two suppliers, it still can choose other supplier to provide the LCD. This will lower a bit of the dgree of dependence.Merge or acquire supplier. The best way of competiting among enterprises is not to wipe out the competitors, but to convert the competitor to a partner or a subsidiary.
