All of the current sound processing strategies of the first group,with interleaved

Throughout the past decades that cochlear implants already have existed,a large
number of speech processing strategies have been proposed (for an overview see
[Wilson,2000]).Currently only a limited set of processing schemes,providing the
best speech perception,still remain and are implemented in commercial cochlear
implant sound processors.These strategies can roughly be divided into two classes:
sound processing strategies with discrete interleaved stimulation,and sound
processing strategies with continuous stimulation.In the former group the different
channels are stimulated interleaved while in the latter group all,or at least part of the
channels,are stimulated simultaneously.
