the即特指,比如上面的on the side of lake,指的是那个（特指）湖的边上；a即泛指,比如on a side of lake,指的是在一个湖的边上（具体在哪个湖的边上不清楚）
再比如in a box,指在一个盒子里（具体哪个盒子不清楚）；in the box,指在一个特定的盒子里.in the... ,in a...区别按具体语境是否是特指.
