Lean production is one such IE management technique. While it is not yet widely available to most small and medium enterprises in China, from enterprises which have successfully implemented the technique one can see that it has been instrumental in waste reduction, quality improvement, product standardization and promoting innovation. The results indicate that the method has broad application.
