住院：He is in hospital.
注意,都没有冠词.
in hospital 住院 in the hospital 在医院里 go to school 上学 go to the school 去某个学校 一般而论,有the强调地方,没有the是强调与这个地方有关的事件. 在英国英语中,表示“去医院看病”、“住院治疗”或“病愈出院”这层意思时,在名词hospital前一般不加冠词的,只有hospital指特定医院的建筑物或工作场所时,才加冠词.而在美国英语里,以上两种情况都加冠词.答案补充
