Little Big Soldier
In the darkest periods of Chinese history between them led the ruthless ruler of the battle that claimed millions of lives.Those who survived,had only two options – to kill or be killed.After a day of battle armed forces of Wei Liang and stayed alive only two men – an old warrior from Liang (Jackie Chan),who played dead and all you wanted was to run home from the war,a young Army General Wei (Wang Leehom).General captures the injured fighter and hopes that when you give your boss,meets his desire to return home.Way back,however,for both men more complicated than they thought,and despite initial hatred of each other woes are over the road.He does not know,however,that they are on track general’s brother,Prince Wen (Steve Woo),who yearn for it,to insure the path to the throne.
Jackie is somewhat lucky.While Hollywood stars are falling after a few problems and have the favor of fans and heat producers hard to recover (John Travolta could tell),Chan’s American Brak la nanny in action in his homeland pass (perhaps because there are inconspicuously buried under the carpet and quickly disappear from cinemas) and still ensure that Hollywood royalty to plunge into something more valuable.Which in this case rather gangster movie City Crime (Shinjuku Incident),which can be found on DVD.But because of that we are here today.Little Big fighter she is miles away place,time and genre,because it is a contemporary war comedy in which Jackie plays a simpleton who has done but for fear,is smarter than it seems,and is determined – when they are in the senseless war himself – her little sabotage.Connection with the Czech Svejk is evident,therefore,it refers to most comments and reviews,but director Ding Sheng has apparently for some stupid character weakness – see his previous Underdog Knight,which is fighting crime with a young soldier with a broken brain.
Little big fighter at first sight recalls the Chinese war pits the last time – should Warlords – lots of action,lots of soldiers,and filters,but a sufficiently “smeared” heroes to all of the Bastille scene with a winch.Unlike Jetova drama,but it remains a pure warrior roadtripovou comedy,which is seldom,and always kind “for fun”.Not that he bled,but sometimes die just pay lip service to you,Jackie and his trick with a fake arrow clearly demonstrate.Central characters are Jackie Farmer and young general on the other side of the barricade,which had command of written off (and after finding that it is alive it does not intend to change anything).Good-natured farmer hopes to catch him enough to be able to return from war in the rice field,but the way he meets a pair of disparate soldiers,bandits,bears … In short,everything you in this specific subgenre can imagine.
With the exception of the very end,which is typically Asian destiny,the film goes under almost Western rules and Chan poses in fine form.Slapstick masters left back,a sword that tajtrlíkování with bamboo handles,or even old age and challenging turns and other stunts wisely leaves.Comedian’s just got precedence over the actions and thus,in which instead of flitting air addressing the absurdity of war,the importance of friendship and the importance of environmental fate.Maybe a little old-fashioned,but for the average European viewer’s certainly more understandable than the classic wuxia,or some of Jackie’s crazy.
When passing a small great fighter Adding Karate Kid,which has its premiere soon,it seems that Jackie finally we have reached a stage of teachers and comic characters.For some people it can be career ending for another new beginning.Jackie had predicted this change from some ten years ago.Maybe it is a little late,but it certainly creates an interesting film.Keep it up …
