I don't think Chinese should be compulsory in university.First or all,Chinese similar to mathematics is just a tool to help us study other sophisticated subjects.Hence,there is no point to continue Chinese courses in universities.Secondly,teaching Chinese to non-Chinese major student is a waste of school resources.It is much better off to offer other humanity course rather than Chinese.Last but not least,universities in other countries do not offer compulsory language courses unless the program in which the students enrolled in requires specific language course.
