Teaching reform in China, which is persistent, differs sharply between regions during the process. This article takes the ideological and ethical education in junior high schools in Daluo town, Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan province as an example. It argues that the principal problems in teaching reform are school and teachers' inadequate understanding of the reform, disability of combination with theory and practice, obscurity of teaching objectives, and slow updating of teaching patterns.
