新概念英语第二册上第86篇课文中有这样一个句子：“Both men had hardly had time to realize what was happending when they were thrown violently into the sea." 课本上是这样翻译的“他们两个还没来得及意识到究竟发生了什么事,就被猛地抛入海中.”在这个中文翻译中,“还没来得及”有一个否定在其中,是不是对应的就是“hardly”?但是如果是这样,这里又有一个句子“Hardly had the foot ball game begun when it started raining.”中文翻译如下“足球比赛才刚刚开始就下起雨来.”在这里,也是“hardly……when……”的句式,但为什么中文翻译里没有出现否定句式?为什么不是“足球比赛还未开始就下起雨来.”呢?请指教!
