what 和that 是有区别的,请看下面几个例子：
He find some information that you can use in your article.
中,已经有了宾语“some information"；that you can use in your article只不过是对”一些信息”作进一步的说明而已.
如果用what而非that,宾语就不明确了.
如果要用what,就把"some information"删除,变为：
He find what you can use in your article.其中"what you can use in your article"整个做find的宾语.意思是“他找到了能用在你文章中的东西”.
He used to sit for hours doing nothing in the boat.的意思是“他过去常常在船上坐上数个小时,什么事情也不做.”
什么时候用doing nothing in the boat?就是在主语在做一件事情的时候（这就有了谓语）,还想表达他同时还在干些什么的时候用.
如果用what what 在句子中一定会充当一个成分,第4题,what we had to do ,what做do的宾语,we had to do 不是一个完整的句子,如果要用what,而 最后一个 you don't like him 是一个完成的句子,前面加that 表代词,指代you don't like him 这件事,而what 不能在这指代这么明确的一件事.
