如果是详细的日子,例如几月几日(早上下午之类也算),那么月份前是加ON,如果只提到月份没有提到确实的日子时间等,那么月份前加IN就对了.
月份前用in；
日期前用On；
点钟前at；
morning前用in；
星期几前用on；
年前的介词是in
周前的介词是in in the next week
季节的介词是in in spring
某日的介词是 on on Friday,on tenth of July,on July 4th
某时的介词是at at nine o'clock
某时某月某日的介词 at ten o'clock,tenth of July
某月某日上午的介词 in the morning of tenth of July

二十世纪九十年代.in 1990s
1900年就是20世纪.90就是90年代.年份后加s,表示"十年时间" 90年代就是90s
in表示较长时间,如世纪、朝代、时代、年、季节、月及一般（非特指）的早、中、晚等.
如 in the 20th century,in the 1950s,in 1989,in summer,in January,in the morning,in one’s life ,in one’s thirties等.
on表示具体某一天及其早、中、晚.
如on May 1st,on Monday,on New Year’s Day,on a cold night in January,on a fine morning,on Sunday afternoon等.
at表示某一时刻或较短暂的时间,或泛指圣诞节,复活节等.
如at 3:20,at this time of year,at the beginning of,at the end of …,at the age of …,at Christmas,at night,at noon,at this moment等.
注意：在last,next,this,that,some,every 等词之前一律不用介词.如：We meet every day.
