Today is my first day working in the *** college canteen. I was told by the canteen manager after the interview, the start time is 28th of April at 9.00, but i need to come 1 hour early for the on-job training for the following 5 days. because i am a new staff so i am working at the lunch shift and dinner shift but not breakfast time.
it is always good idea that come early to the work especially the first day. because i need to take 2 buses approximately one and half hour from my house to the college canteen, so 6.00 is the latest time to get off the bed and half hour for eating breakfast and prepare myself for the work.
i came to canteen at quarter to 8 and changed my uniform before the work start. everything for me is new in the first day. for the next 5 day i will be trained to work in all shift in the canteen including serving hot food, cooking main dish, making sandwiches, working on tills and kitchen potter, but for today my main task is to learn working in the hot food serving area.
this is one of the busiest work in the college canteen. about thousands of student come for hot food during lunch hours. fortunately i had experience to work in this area with my previous job in the restaurant, so it wasn't too hard for me.
i had my lunch at 3 which the most of student went back to class. i ate with all other workmates and they told me a lot news and rules in the canteen.
i finished my first day training and 4.00 and went home about 6.00.
today's work is hard but interesting. i am looking forward to learn more tomorrow.
