一般来说,同位语从句中的that是不在从句中做成分的,而定语从句中的that是一定要在从句中做成分的.
拿这两个句子来看The news that our tean won the game made us excited the news是主语,先不看从句,won是that引导的从句中的动词,所以不是主句的谓语动词,因此,made就是主句的谓语动词,因此整个主句就是the news made us excited.再看从句,that our team won the game that后的句子中主谓宾都不缺少,所以that在从句中不做成分,因此,这个that引导的从句为同位语从句
再看第二个句子the news that he told us made us excited 主语同样是the news,谓语及宾语也同样是made us excited,但是看从句,that he told us,that 后的句子“he told us" he 是主语,told是谓语,us是间接宾语（tell sb sth=tell sth to sb),那那个sth是谁充当的呢,就只能是前面的引导词that了,因此that在从句中做的是told的直接宾语,做了成分,那这个从句自然是定语从句了.
