should 用在虚拟语气中,有两种用法 ,表示的含义与事实是相反的.
1.虚拟现在时表示与现在事实相反的假设,其if 从句的谓语形式用动词的过去式(be 一般用were),主句用would/ should/ could/ might +动词原形.
I’d come too if I had time to spare.
2.虚拟过去时是表示与过去事实相反的假设,if 从句的谓语形式用过去完成时即had＋过去分词,主句用would / should / could / might + have +过去分词.
If the hurricane had happened during the daytime there would have beenmore deaths.

用在形容词anxious、 sorry、 concerned、 happy、 delighted等后接的that从句中 ,当然wonder也是行的.
I'm anxious that he should be well cared for.我盼望他能受到很好的照顾.* We're sorry that you should feel uncomfortable.你觉得在这儿不舒服,我们非常抱歉.* That he should speak to you like that is quite astonishing.他竟然这样对你说话,实在让人吃惊.* I am delighted that he should take that view.他有那种看法,我十分高兴.
