其实,省略的未必就是may be,也可能是wil be或者（语气婉转些）would be.英语中这种用-ever开头的省略句还有：
Whoever the boss,I just want to sue the company.(不论老板是谁,我就是想告这家公司!)
Whatever the result,we simply want to try it.（不管结果如何,我们就想试试看.）
再问： 请问什么情况下可以省略？
再答： 口语或非正式场合一般都省略。正式场合一般还是不省略的较多。
