Abstract in the process of driving, steering wheel shimmy are the most common, the steering wheel shimmy affect not only the driver of vehicle maneuvering, will also affect the vehicle driving stability, ride comfort and safety.This paper first introduces the development and the classification of automobile steering system, and high speed, medium speed, low speed from the motor and reducer running status, analysis of the steering wheel pendulum array failure causes and diagnosis, troubleshooting; a simple analysis of the hydraulic power steering system hydraulic part of the failure diagnosis method, and then discusses the electronic steering system; at last through the case of vehicle steering wheel shimmy fault analysis.Key words: steering; vibration; fault; electronic control
