最后一行的 haveing 应该是 having。而without ever having visited her 这一句是没有错误的，我实在书上抄的，having visited 应该是现在完成词态。
我自己认为这段话的意思是：史密斯夫妇没有勇气告诉她，第二天就要搬走的他们不是这所房子的新主人，而是旧主人，但是他们在这所房子里住了两年却从没有拜访过她，甚至没有注意到她的存在。
我觉得 move in the next day 中 in 是同the next day 组合的 是in the naxt day 所以 move 是单独的 是搬离的意思。还有 who have lived beside 中 have lived 是现在完成词态 用have 说明不止一人 所以who have lived beside 修饰的是史密斯夫妇。the old ones 也说明了不止一人 也是指史密斯夫妇。
