1.General
This document briefly describes the methods and content of SW Audit for MSC Server System.Description is only indicative and outlines minimum content that is covered in the audit.Each audit is different depending on the operator network layout,configuration,size,SW levels,known problem areas etc.
Audit team is normally two or three people and it takes one to two days per network element to have it properly investigated.This also varies case by case and needs to be agreed beforehand.
2.Preparations
The following issues need to be arranged locally in the project before the agreed audit starting date.
Username,Password and IP addresses for all target MSS and MGW elements.MML access right level is 250,Network use/FTP must be allowed,and preferably username should be the same on all target elements.Nemu IP address/username/password is also needed for all MGWs
Network picture with all elements and connections,including IP topology and addresses
IP addresses for PCs if fixed addresses are used (minimum three)
Access to MSS ESB switches and MGW ESA switches (ip-access preferable).
MGW and MSS measurements activated one week before agreed audit starting date (see appendix 1 for instructions and list of initial measurements,audit team may activate additional measurements when needed during the onsite investigation)
Data collection macro to be run and results to be posted to audit team one week beforehand
Site access rights
Enough table space at the site for three people to work
Internet access at the site
local SIM cards and phones that can be used by the audit team (especially if no other Internet connectivity available at the site)
