All of you know about these animated movies: Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Wall-E
But what you may not know is that they were made by the same company: Pixar.

大家也许不知道的是,Pixar的CEO,就是大家所熟悉的、苹果公司的CEO：史蒂夫•乔布斯!
Pixar is a successful animation company: it was acquired by Walt Disney in 2006 for 7.4 billion US Dollars.
Perhaps you don’t know that the CEO of Pixar was Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple Inc. whom we are all familiar with!
1955年2月,乔布斯出生于旧金山,他的生母是一个未婚先育的大学生.最终、乔布斯被一对只有高中学历的夫妇收养.这对夫妇对乔布斯的生母保证：将会送乔布斯上大学.乔布斯的生母才勉强同意这次收养.17年后,乔布斯进入了立德(Reed)大学学习,但是仅仅六个月之后他就辍学,理由是“觉得大学没有价值(couldn’t see the value in it)”
Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco, February 1955; his mother was an unmarried college student, she reluctantly agreed to let him be adopted by a couple with only high school education, after they’d guaranteed that Jobs would be sent to college. 17 years later, Jobs entered Reed University, but he quitted school after only six months because he couldn’t see the value in it.
但是他并没有真的离开立德(Reed)大学,而是选择旁听了他所真正感兴趣的课程.之后乔布斯对这段经历评价很高,认为这段经历对他今后的成功起到了非常重要的帮助.
However, he didn’t really leave the school, instead he opted to sit in on the course that he was interested in. In retrospect, he thought highly of this experience, it had played an important role in his subsequent success.
1976年,乔布斯成立了苹果公司（欢呼!）.1984欢呼年,苹果发布了麦金托什(Macintosh)电脑,这种电脑以其强大的图形性能,很快占据了出版行业的份额.
Steve Jobs set up Apple Company in 1976 (cheers!). Apple came out with Macintosh computer in 1984, it quickly grabbed the major market in the publishing industry due to its strong graphics performance.
但是仅仅在第二年,乔布斯30岁的时候,他就因为权力斗争的失利、被他自己创立的公司炒了鱿鱼.
But in the second year when he was only 30 years of age, he was fired by the company he had created as a result of his losing in a power struggle.
虽然非常沮丧和失落,但是出于他对自己事业的热爱,乔布斯并没有离开硅谷.
Despite feeling depressed and frustrated, Jobs didn’t leave the Silicon Valley because of the passions towards his career.
在下一个10年中,乔布斯成立了两个新的公司：NeXT和Pixar（Pixar是乔布斯以10万美元购得,后来卖了74亿美元）.其中NeXT电脑公司开发的操作系统：NeXT Step,成为了之后苹果Mac OS的雏形.
For the following decade, Jobs had established two new companies: NeXT and Pixar (Pixar was bought for 100 thousand USD, but later it was sold for 7.4 billion USD). As for the NeXT Computer Company, it had developed an operation system called NeXT Step, which was to become a prototype for the subsequent Mac OS.

点是1997年,乔布斯被请回摇摇欲坠的苹果公司.2001年,乔布斯领导的苹果公司发布了后来举世瞩目的iPod.直到2004年10月,iPod在美国成功的占领了70%的音乐播放器市场份额.
The turning point came in 1997 when helmJobs was invited back to take the helm of the failing Apple Company. Jobs released Apple iPod in 2001, which had later become the focus of world attention. Until October 2004, iPod had successfully dominated 70% of the music player market in U.S.A.
2007年,苹果发布了搭载iOS的iPhone智能手机,3年后,iPhone占领了30%的智能手机市场.
In 2007, Apple unveiled iPhone smartphone with iOS, and iPhone captured 30% of the smartphone market 3 years later.
1997年的时候,苹果公司的市值是40亿美元,而到了2010年,苹果公司的市值达到了2220亿美元,60倍于1997年.
The market value of Apple Inc. in 1997 was 4 billion USD; but it had reached 222 billion USD in 2010, 60 times more than that in 1997.
当乔布斯回顾自己的经历是他说：生活有时候会用砖头砸你的脑袋,但是别因此而失去信念,去找你所爱的.如果你没有发现你的所爱,别停下,继续找!
When Jobs looked back at his past experience, he said, “Life will sometimes knock your head with a brick, but don’t loose your faith just because of it; go look for what you love. If you can’t find it, don’t stop; keep looking!”
