The Ct is a 28-y-o Hispanic female who was married at age 20 and is now divorced.Ct came to counseling unhappy because she has no significant intimate relationship in her life.She is angry and depressed about her relationship with her mother and reports she is still mourning her mother who died about a year ago.Ct feels distant from and angry at her father for she thinks he has not properly mourned her mother and is currently dating another woman.
Ct reported having had 4 significant relationships,including her ex-husband.These relationships seem to fall apart when Ct decided that her partner is too self-absorbed.Her relationships,both with her family and romantic partners,appear to be stormy,with frequent disagreements over commitment.She typically finds herself in the situation in which she is much more interested in the relationship than her partner,yet she admits that she is usually overly critical of her partner’s behaviors.This is exactly how she feels in relation to her father/ Ct described herself as talkative most of the time.When she feels uncomfortable with relationships,she likes to “get it all out on the table.”
