Thirdly,homework for this winter vacation.this might be something not so pleasant:) Please don't forget to take your diary back home.It's a good habit to write something in English everyday.Don't you think after a term's practice,it's easier for you to think and write in English?Really,practice makes perfect!In your writing,you can use the form appropriate for the writing section in Band-4 exam.You see,this May,you will take that important exam of Band-4.The form goes in this way:It is a 3-paragragh article.The first paragraph put forward the question(s) you want to discuss and your point of viw.The second paragraph list out the reasons for your view.The third paragraph is a conclusion.
The above is just one half of the homework.The other half is:Please write(type) down the origin of your Chinese name in a piece of paper.Hand it in at the beginning of next term.This is a New Year present to me as well as your homework:) Such idea occurred to my mind when the other day,I typed the first diary article I wrote for my daughter after she was born in this world ( A good friend of mine in Canada wants to have a see.Till now,I have written 12 diaries for my daughter),I found one section of the content is the origin of her name,or,in another word,"Words and their stories".Really,one's name is a creation of his(her) parents.They must contain their good wishes,their life motto and many other things to their childl's name.There must be stories behind one name.Do you know the meaning and stories behind your name?If the answer is "No",go back home to ask your parents and write them down for yourself and me,OK?Wish you don't regard it as a terrible homework.
